A ductless system can target individual rooms. A central system can serve a building through ductwork. Neither is automatically better.
Four questions decide the direction
Is usable ductwork already present? Which rooms are uncomfortable? Is independent zoning important? What heating system is being replaced or retained?
Capacity is not a guess
Floor area is only one input. A professional should consider insulation, windows, air leakage, layout and design temperatures before selecting equipment.
